Ranked: The 5 Biggest 1000-LB Sisters Season 9 Moments Before the Finale

“How the hell am I gonna get down from up here?” Tammy Slaton asked it from the back of a horse — the first she had ever ridden, a ride her weight had made impossible for most of her life. Ten episodes later, Season 9 of 1000-LB Sisters ends Tuesday night. Here are the five moments that defined it, ranked from the sweetest to the one that could still change the wedding date.

No. 5 — Chris and Brittany’s 13-Year Wait Finally Gets Answers

The quietest storyline of the season might be the one fans remember longest. Chris and Brittany Combs walked into a fertility clinic and finally got answers about their 13-year wait for a baby: Chris’s test needed a sperm count of at least 20 million per milliliter, and when two control lines appeared he announced, “The swimmers be swimming.” Brittany, down from 236 to 166 pounds and diabetes-free, learned she was ovulating. Then Episode 9 delivered the gut punch: her pregnancy test came back negative.

No. 4 — Amanda’s “Not Monday — Now” Ultimatum

Dr. Katie gave Amy initial approval for skin-removal surgery in nearby Evansville — home the same evening — but with a checklist, not a date: lose 20 more pounds and quit smoking completely. Amy’s plan was to start quitting the following Monday. Amanda Halterman pushed back on the spot: why wait until Monday when the surgery slot is on the line now? Amanda has spent Season 9 becoming the family’s truth-teller, and Tuesday’s finale will show whether Amy cleared the checklist in time.

No. 3 — “Amy Gets Everything and Tammy Gets Nothing”

Five words, one confessional, and the fandom has not stopped fighting about them since. As Amy prepared for her first Nashville stage, Tammy said it plainly: “Amy gets everything and Tammy gets nothing.” It landed the same week Tammy uninvited the older siblings from the Nashville trip in Episode 8. Tammy has lost more than 500 pounds and is counting down to a December 12 wedding. Amy has lost around 200 pounds, married Brian Lovvorn in 2025, and is raising two little boys while chasing a stage. Both scoreboards are real — which is why nobody can agree which sister is right.

No. 2 — “Pounds Hollow”: From a Fight to a Nashville Stage

No storyline traveled further this season than Amy’s song. “Pounds Hollow” began as a poem Amy wrote during a fight with Tammy and became a 2:41 country-rap single, released September 18 with AI help. She survived Tammy calling her first takes “a little rough” and “crackly,” then walked onto a stage on October 27 for her first Nashville performance — her moment, no Tammy on the microphone. The finale’s first look shows her beaming at a watch party for the video, then in tears as some in the room question whether she is really the one singing.

No. 1 — The 40th Birthday That Ended in the ER

Nothing else this season carried stakes like the last ten minutes of Episode 10. Tammy celebrated her 40th birthday at Ellis Park — and then Andrea fainted from a seizure and was taken to the emergency room. A week earlier, Andrea had revealed her lifelong seizures have been getting worse. The season began with Tammy climbing onto a horse for the first time, her first horseback ride, and it ends with her standing by Andrea as she faces what the finale synopsis calls “a scary diagnosis.” The December 12 wedding is 32 days away, and no diagnosis has been made public.

Tuesday night, November 10, at 9 p.m. ET on TLC, the finale “Down in Pounds Hollow” has to close all five threads in one hour. So here is the question the ranking leaves behind: if Tuesday hands Tammy her wedding date and Amy her surgery date on the same night, who actually won Season 9 — the sister who got the horse, the ring and December 12, or the sister who got the stage?
