Blayke Hid a Broken Arm for Four Days — So Should Mom and Dad Let Her Go or Hold On Tighter?

Blayke Busby broke her arm, went to school for four more days, and told her mom it hurt “a little bit.” Nobody in a house of eight people — not even the dad who filmed the fall — realized the bone was broken until day four. Now fans are split: is Blayke proof that Adam and Danielle raised a tough teenager ready for more freedom — or proof that Mom and Dad still need to hold on tighter?

Four Days, One Broken Arm, Zero Complaints

According to reports, Blayke, 15, had just gotten home from school and asked her dad to film her doing gymnastics — a few tumbles in the house. Then she crashed to the ground, curling into a ball and clutching her arm and wrist. Adam was recording when it happened. Nobody panicked: the fall did not look alarming, and Blayke kept moving her wrist more each day. Her parents suspected a sprain — ice, rest, and a note from Danielle excusing her from gym class. Four days later she was still favoring her wrist, so Danielle took her to the doctor. The X-ray showed a broken bone — a small break, according to reports, but a break all the same. By the end of the video, Blayke was smiling. She had said something was wrong all along, just so calmly that everyone believed her when she said she was fine.

Team Let Her Go: “She Just Proved She Can Handle It”

Blayke turned 15 in April, and Danielle marked the day with a slideshow and a line that undid every parent reading: her four-year-old “little mama” is now “old enough to be behind the wheel.” “Thinking of you driving and going off without me… it’s a ‘let her go’ kinda phase, and it’s so hard and scary,” Danielle wrote.

The case for loosening the reins writes itself. Blayke walks into a public high school every morning while her five little sisters started sixth grade in a homeschool co-op. She made honor roll and won tennis and volleyball awards. Then she carried a broken arm through four days of school without making a scene. Her parents said it themselves on episode 107 of More Than Reality: “Our job as parents isn’t to make the world easier for our children. It’s to prepare them to live in it.” Team Let Her Go says the broken arm is the receipt: the preparation worked.

Team Hold On Tight: “If She Can Hide a Broken Bone, What Else Can She Hide?”

Team Hold On Tight reads the same four days and sees the opposite lesson. A broken bone went undiagnosed for four days in a house where Dad literally filmed the fall. A small break this time, sure. But what if it had been worse? She is 15, not 18, and she has grown up on camera since she was four.

Look at the guardrails her own parents still keep. The quints will more than likely not join the podcast until they are older. The family still insists the girls put the screens down and go outside. Team Hold On Tight says the broken arm proved the guardrails are still needed — not that they can come down.

The Double Standard Under One Roof

Blayke and the quints live under two different sets of rules. She gets public high school and a driver’s seat. They get a homeschool co-op and a podcast they cannot join yet. Is that unfair — or just matching the system to the kid? Blayke is the test case either way: if she thrives with more freedom, the quints will follow her path one day.

So here it is: Blayke is 15, behind the wheel, and just carried a broken arm through four days of school — is it time for Adam and Danielle to hand her the keys to her own life, or does the fact that nobody spotted the break for four days prove Mom and Dad still need to hold on? Team Let Her Go or Team Hold On Tight — where do you stand on Blayke?
