“December 12, ’26. We’re thinking, like, ice princess.” Tammy Slaton said it at a restaurant table in September, answering a friend who asked if she and Andrea Dalton had set a wedding date. Three days from now, on Tuesday, November 10, the Season 9 finale of 1000-LB Sisters airs — and the road to that answer stretches back almost seven years, through a wheelchair, a surgery, a funeral, and a proposal.

When 1000-LB Sisters premiered in January 2020, Tammy weighed 725 pounds. She used a wheelchair to leave the house, breathed through a trach tube, and needed supplemental oxygen. Doctors warned her the weight could kill her. The show’s title was the premise: two sisters, more than 1,000 pounds between them.

July 2022: The Surgery That Changed Everything

The turn came in rehab and an operating room. Tammy had bariatric surgery in July 2022, and the pounds started falling in numbers that sounded made up: more than 500 gone, down to a reported 238 pounds by Season 7. She went from a wheelchair to walking into rooms on her own feet. For the first time, the story stopped being about whether Tammy would survive — and started being about what she would do with the life she saved.

July 2023 to January 2025: Loss, Then a New Body

The middle of the timeline is the part nobody celebrates. In July 2023, Tammy’s husband Caleb Willingham died, months after their wedding. Tammy has said she never wanted to be with a man again. Then, in January 2025, she went through an eight-hour skin-removal procedure in Pittsburgh that took off more than 15 pounds of loose skin from her chin, arms, and stomach, according to reports. She came out of it with a body she had never lived in — and a dating life nobody had predicted.

June 2025: A Proposal, a Horseback Ride, and a Frozen Dream

In June 2025, Tammy announced her engagement to Andrea Dalton, and the Season 9 premiere showed fans the proposal itself. The wedding planning became the season’s spine: an “ice princess” theme, a Frozen-inspired forest with poinsettias and glitter, and a date — December 12 — that Tammy revealed herself. Along the way she tried horseback riding, one of the season’s firsts for a woman who once needed a wheelchair to leave the house. Amy said yes to being maid of honor on the spot and took on decorations duty, and the couple went venue-hunting on camera, touring Burdoc Farms Weddings and Events in Kentucky, though they did not book it.

November 3 to November 10: The Scare Before the Wedding

Then the timeline hit its hardest week. Episode 10, “Sorry (Not) Sorry,” aired Tuesday, November 3, and ended with Tammy scrambling when Andrea suffered a medical emergency. No diagnosis has been made public. According to reports, Andrea’s seizures have been happening more often, and the couple are in therapy over trust issues ahead of the wedding. The finale synopsis, for “Down in Pounds Hollow” on November 10, says Tammy will stand by Andrea as she faces “a scary diagnosis” — with the December 12 wedding hanging on the outcome. Six years ago, Tammy was fighting to live to see another birthday. On Tuesday, she fights to hold a wedding date together while the woman she plans to marry is in a hospital bed.

So here is the question the finale cannot dodge. If Tuesday ends with Andrea still facing a scary diagnosis, should Tammy push ahead with December 12 no matter what — or is waiting the only way to make sure Andrea is well enough to say “I do”? Team December 12 says love does not wait. Team Wait says a wedding is only a beginning if both brides are healthy enough to enjoy it. Which side are you on?
