“GG, and I will be filming.” That was Deon Derrico’s whole answer in May 2026 when fans asked who would be part of the Derricos’ new show. Seven words — and the loudest word in the sentence is the one that is not there: Karen. Six months later, with Deon saying the cameras are already rolling for a 2027 return, the fandom’s hardest question is still unanswered. Does the comeback include the mother of all 14 kids — or has the show already moved on without her?
Here is what is settled. Deon and Karen divorced in June 2024 after 19 years, sharing joint custody of their 13 minor children. According to court documents obtained by TMZ on October 28, Deon says 12 of the 14 kids now live in his home. And the comeback is still a promise, not a premiere — no network, no title, no date — only Deon’s word that filming is happening, with the comeback promises stacking up since August 2025. While the cameras supposedly roll, the fandom has split into two camps.
Team Bring Karen Back: No Mom, No Derricos
Ask this camp, and the answer is simple: you cannot make a Derrico show without the woman who gave birth to all 14 of them. Fans watched Karen for five seasons — the pregnancies, the multiples, the military-tight household. A comeback built only around Deon’s house is, to this side, a different show wearing a familiar name.
Their second argument is fairness. Karen says Deon stopped in-person visits in April 2026 and cut video contact in August — her claims, not a court’s ruling, and Deon says he is protecting the kids. But if the new season films only one household, viewers will only ever hear one parent’s version of a two-parent story. Where the family stands now is two households, not one.
Team Film Without Her: The Case for Leaving Karen Out

The other camp starts with the court record. Karen was arrested in Las Vegas in June 2026 on charges including harassment, aggravated stalking and violating a restraining order, over emails Deon says broke a protective order. She pleaded not guilty, posted $2,000 bail and was ordered to wear an ankle monitor. Her attorney claims Deon fabricated the emails; Deon denies it. The case remains open. Karen is presumed innocent, and nothing has been proven. But this camp’s point is practical: no network wants its family comeback premiering next to an open criminal case.
Then came the October 28 filing. According to TMZ, Deon told the court he found entries in one daughter’s journal describing inappropriate touching by a man Karen has spent time with. The man is unidentified, the allegations unproven, no court has ruled, and Karen had not responded when the report was published. Their final argument is the simplest: the kids are where the cameras are. Twelve of the 14 live in Deon’s house, and the five questions the new season must answer all start from that house, not from a courtroom.

Between the two camps sits an idea neither side loves: a comeback where Karen appears, but on a leash — a few episodes, family events, the moments the kids actually need their mom in. The bridge for that version already exists, and her name is in Deon’s sentence: GG. Marian “GG” Derrico, Deon’s mother and the family’s anchor, is the one person both households still orbit.
And there is one more voice in this debate: Darian, born in 2005, is 20 now — the only one of the 14 outside the custody arrangement entirely, chasing a music dream of her own, while the eight youngest are still in elementary school. If the cameras come back, the question is not only which parent gets filmed — it is whether the kids old enough to speak get a say.
So the group decides. If the 2027 cameras roll and Karen appears in two episodes — or in none at all — do you still watch, or is a Derrico show without its mom a show you skip? Team Bring Karen Back, or Team Film Without Her — pick your side, and tell us why.
