The Derricos’ Lost Two Years: Divorce, a School Bus, an Auction — and Cameras Rolling Again

The Derricos’ Lost Two Years: Divorce, a School Bus, an Auction — and Cameras Rolling Again

At 9 a.m. on September 1, 2026, an auctioneer in Las Vegas opened the bidding on the Derricos’ family home at $430,254. Nobody raised a hand. The house that once held fourteen kids and five seasons of television sat in silence while the gavel waited for a number that never came. That empty room is where the story stands — two years after the cameras stopped, weeks after Deon said they are rolling again.

Between the last episode and that auction, the family lived a second series no network filmed. Here it is, in the order it happened.

June 2024: Nineteen Years Ends in Two Days

On June 4, 2024, Deon and Karen Derrico filed for divorce after 19 years of marriage. Two days later, a judge finalized it. They share joint legal and physical custody of their 13 minor children — eldest daughter Darian, born in 2005, was already an adult. Under the terms reported by TMZ, Deon pays $1,166 a month in child support while Karen covers the children’s medical insurance. The show had already ended after five seasons.

When the TLC paychecks stopped, the bills did not. Deon revealed in a November 2025 podcast interview that he now drives a school bus. Karen works as a substitute teacher. The two people who once ran a Las Vegas household like a small school now work in actual schools, on school schedules, for regular paychecks — Deon driving a bus, Karen walking into other people’s classrooms.

September 1, 2026: The 9 A.M. Auction Nobody Bid On

Their 2,321-square-foot Las Vegas home went up for auction on September 1, 2026, with opening bids at $430,254 — and the auction drew zero bids. Deon had already sued business partner Tyrone Sprewell in late June 2026, asking a judge to halt the sale because he claims a 25% stake in the property. The Sun has also reported five bankruptcy filings over the years.

June 2026: The Arrest That Split the Family in Two

Karen was arrested in Las Vegas in June 2026 on charges including harassment, aggravated stalking and violating a restraining order, over emails Deon says broke a protective order. She pleaded not guilty on June 23, posted $2,000 bail and was ordered to wear an ankle monitor. Her attorney claims Deon fabricated the emails — a claim Deon denies. The charges are allegations; Karen is presumed innocent. The case remains open. In her own filing, Karen claims Deon stopped in-person visits in April 2026 and cut video contact in August. He says he is protecting the kids; she says she is being kept from them. That is where the family stands now — two households, and a mother fighting for access to her own children.

October 28, 2026: The Filing, and the Cameras

According to court documents obtained by TMZ on October 28, 2026, Deon told the court he has 12 of the 14 children living in his home, and he raised an allegation he says he found in one daughter’s journal — that a man Karen has spent time with allegedly touched her inappropriately when she was younger. The man is unidentified, the allegations unproven, no court has ruled on them, and Karen had not responded to those specific claims when TMZ published its report. Meanwhile the kids keep growing up off camera. Then came Deon’s own words, the sentence that restarted everything: “we are filming right now for our new season,” with a premiere reportedly targeted for 2027 — no network, no title, no date. Fans have heard the comeback promises before, and watched each one quietly pass.

Two years ago, the Derricos were one family under one roof with a camera crew in the living room. Today they are two households, one open criminal case, one house nobody wanted to buy — and a promise that the cameras are back. If the new season films twelve kids in their dad’s house while their mom fights from the outside, whose story is it? Team Deon or Team Karen — and when the cameras come back, what do the fourteen kids get to say about the two years they lived off camera?
