“Awww thank you, and yes you will definitely see more of us, we are filming right now for our new season.” That was Deon Derrico’s fifth comeback promise in 14 months. So let’s rank every promise, from the one nobody should have believed to the one that might actually be real.

Doubling Down With the Derricos ran five seasons on TLC, from 2020 to 2024, before Deon and Karen Derrico divorced in June 2024 after 19 years of marriage. Since then, Deon has kept the comeback alive one update at a time — none with a network, a title or a date.

#5 — August 2025: “All New Episodes Air in 2026”

In an Instagram Q&A in August 2025, Deon told fans: “All new television show, all new season, and all new episodes of our television show airs in 2026.” No network, no title, no footage — just a sentence in a Q&A box. Fans screenshotted it like a contract anyway. The problem is the calendar: 2026 came, and no new Derrico episode aired anywhere. As a promise, it ranks last. As a spark, it worked.

#4 — December 2025: The Video Tease With the Whole Family

Four months later, Deon posted a video of the whole family, urging fans to stay tuned for an all-new show airing in 2026, Season 6. The clip itself was the message: all 14 kids, together, on camera again. But the promise was identical to August’s — same year, same missing details. A family video proves the Derricos can still fill a frame. It does not prove a network bought the show.

#3 — November 2025: “We Are Officially Free Agents”

On November 1, 2025, Deon posted the one update that was actually news. “#TheDERRICOs is officially free agents and meeting with other networks for our new upcoming season,” he wrote, announcing that the family’s TLC contract had ended. “We chose to no longer go forward with filming with TLC. That was totally done by us.” It ranks higher because something verifiable happened. The catch: “in talks” is a status, not a deal — and a year later, no network has been named.

#2 — May 2026: The “May Release” That Never Came

By May 2026, Deon was, according to reports, “shooting for a May release” — the first promise with an actual month attached. A month is a dare, and this one was proven wrong: May came and went with no premiere, no trailer, no title. It also hinted the new show’s center had shifted — Deon said he and his mother, GG, would be filming from his house, where, according to reports, 12 of the 14 kids now live. Specificity earns second place. Missing its own deadline is why it is not first.

Then came the sentence at the top of this article. When a fan asked, “When do y’all show come back on??” Deon reportedly answered: “Not yet, next year.” Together, they make the strongest promise yet: present tense, cameras rolling, target year 2027. The caveat is the same as ever: still no network, no title, no date. Karen’s June 2026 arrest case also remains open, according to reports. But for the first time, “coming back” is something Deon says is already happening, not something he says will happen.

Here is where the fandom splits. One side says the fifth promise — filming, present tense, with a year attached — is the one to believe. The other side says a promise without a network is just a caption, and Deon has missed 2026 twice. Where do you stand — is “we are filming right now” finally the one, or does Deon need to show you a network and a date first? Pick a side: Team Believe Deon, or Team Prove It?
