Baby, Bucket List, and a First Date: Ranking All 6 Season 18 Storylines

Baby, Bucket List, and a First Date: Ranking All 6 Season 18 Storylines

Exactly one year ago today, Liz Johnston married Brice Bolden in Forsyth, Georgia. Twelve months later they are parents of two — and the season telling the middle of that story premieres Tuesday, November 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC. Here they are, ranked by what is at stake.

1. Liz’s Second Baby: The One With Real Fear Behind It

Nothing else in Season 18 carries stakes like this. As a little person, Liz must deliver by C-section under general anesthesia, a fear she voices on camera. In real life, son Coleman arrived September 8, 2026. Viewers will watch a pregnancy that has already ended in a birth — and, according to reports, a hospital scare for Coleman at four weeks old. No wonder it tops the Season 18 cast guide.

2. Emma Turns 21 and Says the Word “Yes”

Emma Johnston turned 21 on July 1, and the trailer hands her the line fans keep quoting. Asked if she wants a boyfriend, she answers with zero hesitation: “Yes.” She has said publicly that she does not have a boyfriend. What lifts it to second is the setup: according to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Ashley and Allie are teaming up to play matchmaker for Emma, seemingly with Joose Jeskanen in mind, the family’s former Finnish exchange guest. TLC has confirmed no couple.

3. Amber’s New Chapter, Told With a Cake

Amber Johnston throws herself a menopause party in the trailer — a cake baked to thank her uterus for its service — and no scene this season has split the fandom like it. According to TLC, Amber is navigating perimenopause, and she opens up about how it affects her mood and marriage. It is the storyline millions of women live and almost nobody films.

4. Trent Turns 50 and Picks Up a Lance

Trent Johnston is marking his 50th birthday the only way he knows how: all in. Per TLC, his challenge is 50 new things at 50 — dude-ranch work and jousting, plus magic tricks, cow chasing and rock rappelling. It ranks fourth: pure joy, nothing to lose. For the full breakdown, see Trent’s bucket list, ranked wildest first.

5. Jonah and Ashley: Seven Years, Still No Answer

Jonah Johnston has done the hard part. Years after the Delta 8 scare that derailed his early twenties, he rebuilt himself into a working car salesman, per a 2024 report. But the address has not changed: he still lives at home, and he and Ashley have been together seven years with no progress toward marriage or moving in together, according to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup. It ranks fifth: the season has covered this ground before.

6. Alex, Allie, and a Promise Ring With a Plan

The quietest storyline on the list might also be the steadiest. Alex Johnston has already given girlfriend Allie Smith a promise ring, and, per TV Season & Spoilers, he hopes to propose next year and eventually work on her family’s farm. Allie just earned a headline of her own — the American FFA Degree, a top honor in the youth agriculture organization. Of the six storylines, this is the one where the plan already exists. It just needs a yes.

The trailer never says it out loud: Anna Johnston will not appear in Season 18, according to reports, after leaving the show ahead of Season 17. So on November 17, which thread wins your remote first — Liz facing that C-section, or Emma answering the boyfriend question with Joose in the room?
