Who’s Actually In Season 18? The 7 Little Johnstons Cast Guide Fans Keep Getting Wrong

Twenty days stand between 7 Little Johnstons fans and Season 18 — and one question keeps coming up louder than the rest: who is actually in the new season?

The Season 18 trailer, released on October 23, answers some of it and dodges the rest. TLC has confirmed the premiere — Tuesday, November 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT — but the cast list is where fans keep getting tripped up, because the family from the early seasons is not quite the family walking into Season 18. Here is the cast guide, person by person, with no guessing dressed up as fact.

Back for Season 18: The Core Six

Start with the sure things. Trent and Amber Johnston, the parents at the center of the show since it premiered in March 2015, are back — along with four of their five children: Jonah, Elizabeth (Liz), Alex and Emma. That six-person core carries the season’s headline stories: Trent turning 50, Amber’s new chapter, Liz and Brice’s second-baby storyline, and Emma turning 21. Note: the show runs behind real life — Season 18 follows Liz’s second pregnancy, but Coleman was already born on September 8, 2026.

The One Name Missing From the Trailer

Anna Johnston will not appear in Season 18. She departed the series after Season 16 and did not appear in Season 17, which premiered on March 17, 2026. Her estrangement from her parents is public, and in a December 2025 episode she said she was ready to move on. TLC has announced no return, and nothing in the Season 18 trailer suggests a surprise comeback. Fans hoping for a reconciliation scene should not hold their breath — at least not this season.

Jonah and Ashley: Together Seven Years, Still in Limbo

Then there is the fandom’s favorite gray area: Ashley, Jonah Johnston’s girlfriend of seven years. The Season 18 trailer once again puts Jonah’s future — and his parents’ worries about it — front and center. But here is the fact fans keep blurring: TLC has not announced Ashley as a main cast member. A fan theory reported by TV Season & Spoilers on October 26 suggests she could step into a bigger role, but that is fan speculation, not a network announcement. Until TLC says otherwise, Ashley remains present, important, and officially unconfirmed.

Alex, Allie and the New Generation

The same honest label applies to Allie Smith, Alex Johnston’s girlfriend — with one difference: this week, Allie earned a headline of her own. According to TV Season & Spoilers, she has received the American FFA Degree, a top honor in the youth agriculture organization, and the family publicly celebrated her achievement. Alex has spoken about hoping to get engaged next year, according to reports, but no engagement has been announced. Meanwhile the next generation is already here: Liz and Brice, married November 8, 2025, are parents to Leighton (born November 3, 2023) and baby Coleman — making Trent and Amber proud grandparents, known as Lolli and Boppa.
