Seven years, one prom date, one painful split, one beach proposal, one wedding shadowed by grief, and two babies. Liz Johnston and Brice Bolden have lived almost their entire love story in front of 7 Little Johnstons cameras — and that is exactly why fans cannot agree on which chapter mattered most.

A new timeline published by TV Season & Spoilers on October 27 lays out every milestone from 2019 to 2026. Read it the way fans do — era by era — and five very different love stories emerge.

The “Roommates” Breakup Still Divides the Fandom

Liz and Brice met in their Georgia neighborhood and started dating in 2019, with prom that spring putting their young romance on television. Years later, living together exposed cracks. Liz described the relationship, in a Season 14 preview, as feeling more like two roommates sharing a home than a romantic couple — and said she did not want something merely comfortable or mediocre.

That honesty is where the fandom splits. One camp calls the breakup Liz’s bravest on-camera moment: she saw the effort in her parents Trent and Amber’s marriage and refused to settle for less. The other camp says the split gets too much credit — the couple reconciled, after all. Turning point, or just a pause? The timeline does not settle it.

Leighton Changed Everything — Or Did She?

After reconciling, Liz and Brice announced their first pregnancy in September 2023. Their daughter, Leighton Drew Bolden, arrived on November 3, 2023, weighing five pounds, 10 ounces. By May 2024, Liz said the relationship had improved a lot, and the couple later moved into a home of their own in Georgia.

Here is the second debate: did parenthood fix the relationship, or just give it a new reason to keep going? Either way, nobody disputes that Leighton turned a young couple into a family.

The Beach Proposal After a Six-Year Wait

If any single moment united the fandom, it was the proposal. During Season 16, Brice asked Trent for permission to marry Liz, and after Trent and Amber gave their blessing, he proposed on May 25, 2025, at the couple’s favorite spot in Pensacola Beach, Florida. Liz announced the engagement on Instagram the same day.

Fans had waited since 2019 for that question, through a Season 12 ring-shopping tease that went nowhere. For romantics, this is the peak of the story — six years of waiting, answered on their own beach.

From a Grieving Wedding to Baby Coleman

The final era is the hardest to argue about, and the most emotional. Wedding planning moved fast, but Liz’s grandmother, Nana, entered hospice care and died in October 2025, only weeks before the ceremony. Nana had hoped to attend, and Liz and Brice pressed on, wanting to honor that wish.

They married on November 8, 2025, in a field at the Johnston family home in Forsyth, Georgia, with around 80 friends and relatives watching. Leighton, who had turned two just five days earlier, served as flower girl. Season 17, which premiered March 17, 2026, later showed the planning behind it all, with the finale airing May 12, 2026.

Then came the chapter nobody saw coming when the timeline began: on March 10, 2026, Liz and Brice announced a second pregnancy, and their son, Coleman Brice Johnston Bolden, arrived by scheduled C-section on September 8, 2026. Liz has since said her family feels complete.

So which era wins? The breakup that proved Liz would not settle. The baby who turned a couple into a family. The beach proposal six years in the making. The wedding held through grief. Or the arrival of Coleman, closing the circle that started with a 2019 prom date? Tell us in the comments — this is one debate the fandom has never settled.
