March 31, 2015. Liz Johnston was 13 years old, Emma was 9, and a family of seven from Forsyth, Georgia walked onto TLC as the world’s largest known family of little people. Eleven years on, eight days from Season 18, here is that road in eight dates, one for each day left on the countdown.
Day 8 to Day 7: Where It All Started
March 31, 2015: the series premieres at 10 p.m. as five kids get ready for their first formal dance. The promise: size does not define what a family can do. The cameras stay, the kids grow up on screen, and the full season-by-season story moves fast from here.
July 13, 2021: the Season 9 finale, “Liz Leaves the Nest,” delivers on its title. Elizabeth moves into her own house, the first Johnston child to do so, while Jonah turns 21 and Trent and Amber lay down a jobs-and-moving-out ultimatum. Anna hopes to follow, but her parents are not convinced she is ready.
Day 6 to Day 5: A House and a Baby

February 2023: Anna Johnston buys a house at 22, paid for with her own bracelet business, Fizz4Passion. She is the first Johnston kid to own a home; Amber celebrates it with the hashtag #annagotacrib. Her brothers call her a trailblazer. It is a high point she earned on her own, and where each Johnston kid stands in 2026 looks very different now.
November 3, 2023: Liz Johnston and Brice Bolden welcome daughter Leighton, making Trent and Amber grandparents, Lolli and Boppa. Leighton turned three on November 3 of this year. The family that started the show as seven is becoming more.
Day 4: A Wedding and a Goodbye in the Same Year

November 8, 2025: Liz marries Brice at the family home, the first Johnston wedding, weeks after losing Trent’s mother, Nana. The younger sister marries while older brother Jonah, seven years with girlfriend Ashley and still living at home, has no ring and no move-out plan. Trent and Amber have worried about the lack of progress, according to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.

Anna departs the series after Season 16, skips Season 17 and will not appear in Season 18. She has said she stepped away to protect her mental health. The show has never explained her absence on camera.
Day 3 to Day 1: A Baby, a Hard Night and a Trailer
September 8, 2026: Liz and Brice welcome son Coleman, their second child. Season 18 follows the pregnancy on screen, with Liz facing a C-section under general anesthesia, which she fears on camera. Real life has already moved past the cameras, and everything we know about Season 18 starts with this baby.
October 10, 2026: Anna is arrested in Georgia on suspicion of DUI, according to reports, and released the next day on a $1,563 bond. She has since answered critics on TikTok, calling drinking and driving “not good” and asking fans to hold judgment.
October 23, 2026: TLC drops the Season 18 trailer. Trent turns 50 and tries 50 new things, including dude-ranch work and jousting. Amber throws herself a menopause party, with a cake thanking her uterus for its service. Emma, turning 21 this season, is asked if she wants a boyfriend and answers a simple, unhesitant “Yes.”
Day Zero: November 17, 2026
November 17, 2026: Season 18 premieres at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC. Six Johnstons will be there. One chair will stay empty. Eleven years, eight dates, one family that has never looked the same twice.
So here is the question the countdown leaves behind: if you could rewind to one date and change what happened next, would you pick the night Anna got her house keys, the day Liz said “I do,” or October 10, the night everything got harder? Which date would you change, and why?
