In November 2017, Lexus Scheller was 15 and 38 weeks pregnant. Her mother Kelsey was about to become a 31-year-old grandmother. Lexus gave birth to Scarlett Brooke on May 2, 2017.
No. 4: Shayden’s Arrest — and the Video That Made Lexus Furious
At 20, Shayden Massey’s life after Lexus had become a police blotter. In April 2020 he was booked at 6:39 in the morning on an outstanding warrant and a charge of possession of a controlled substance, according to reports. Court records showed a long trail of suspended-license and drug charges behind it. Weeks earlier, his own sister had posted videos of Shayden drunk, smoking indoors and falling on his face — with little Scarlett in the room. Lexus found out a week later and demanded to know why nobody had called her.
No. 3: Emalee Learns She Needs an Emergency C-Section
Season 6 gave fans the scare of the series. In a sneak peek, Emalee Lenhard — 18, pregnant with her first child — learned in the hospital that she needed an emergency C-section. The clip showed Nate Alden, 16 at the time, trying to hold it together beside her while doctors moved fast. Westley was born on January 2, 2023. For viewers who watched it, the show never felt the same after.
No. 2: Five Mugshots — Mia’s Mom and the Childhood She Described
The Season 7 trailer opened on Mia Quebedeaux in a wedding dress, glasses on, grinning at the mirror: “The bump is bumping.” Then Mia said her childhood had been traumatic because of her mother. Days later, the records came out: five mugshots of her mother Nicole between 2016 and 2024, with charges including drug possession, domestic violence and DUI, the most recent in 2024 for DUI, according to reports. The same trailer showed her dad Keith laying into the teens with tough love — after Mia admitted on camera that Jessie had taken off the protection they had been using.

Nothing in seven seasons tops January 2026. The fire tore through her dad Keith’s house, where Mia, Keith, Jessie and newborn Oakleigh all lived. Everyone got out alive. Everything else was gone, down to their phones, and a GoFundMe helped them start over. Four months later, on May 10, 2026, Jessie got down on one knee in New Orleans, Mia holding Oakleigh, and proposed after asking Mia’s dad for permission first. “Soon to be Mr. and Mrs.,” he captioned the photo.
