Every Schrankel Ranked: Who Fans Say Is the Real Star of I Am Shauna Rae

Every great reality family has a hierarchy, even if nobody on camera ever admits it. Three years after I Am Shauna Rae aired its final episode on October 1, 2023, fans are still arguing about the Schrankels — about who actually made the show worth watching. So here is every Schrankel, ranked from least to most unforgettable.

One honest note first. This is a fan debate, not a network announcement: TLC has never officially canceled the show and has never announced a Season 3. The ranking is built on two seasons of screen time and what fans still quote in groups.

How This Ranking Works

Screen presence counts, but so does impact: the family member who changed a scene just by walking into it beats the one who simply appeared in more of them.

No. 6 to No. 4: The Quiet Schrankels

No. 6: Morgan Schrankel. The oldest sister is the ranking’s great mystery — which is why she lands last. Morgan, an educator and reading specialist based in Philadelphia according to her public professional profiles, barely appeared on the show and keeps her personal social media private. Fans respect her, but you cannot rank what you barely saw.

No. 5: Tara Lesick. Shauna’s older sister, engaged to fiancé Jesse Barricella and based in Florida, offered a different model of sisterhood: close, but at a distance. Tara showed up, supported, and went home to her own life — arguably the healthiest version of this family dynamic. Her scenes were warm but rare, and rarity costs her places.

No. 4: Rylee Schrankel. The youngest sister climbs higher every time fans rewatch. Her most famous moment — sliding into a restaurant booth on Shauna’s Season 2 premiere date with firefighter Thomas, while stepdad Mark dined at the next table — is still quoted in fan groups. Funny, awkward, and underneath it, real: this is a family that shows up, sometimes too much. On a rewatch, Rylee reads less like a tagalong and more like the show’s secret comic relief.

No. 3 and No. 2: The Scene-Stealers

No. 3: Mark Schrankel. The stepfather who became the father. Mark raised Shauna and Tara as his own, drove Shauna to dates before she could drive herself, and stood beside her in 2022 when she legally dropped the last name Lesick for Schrankel. His confessional deadpan balanced Patty’s emotion, and he is the ranking’s backbone: never the loudest, always the reason a scene held together.

No. 2: Patty Schrankel. The negotiator, the worrier, the comic relief, and the emotional center of the Long Island house — often in the same scene. Patty powered half the show’s best arguments about dating, safety, and letting go. She loses the top spot for one reason: it was never really her story.

No. 1: The Star Herself

No. 1: Shauna Rae. Obviously. The 27-year-old who turned a 3-foot-10 frame — the result of pituitary dwarfism after childhood brain cancer treatment — into a platform nobody else could have built: first on TLC, now on TikTok under @shaunarae99, where more than a million followers watch her tell her own story. Shauna carried the show’s hardest conversations: dating at 3-foot-10, strangers mistaking a grown woman for a child, the fight for independence from a family that loves her fiercely. Every other Schrankel here is ranked by how they orbited her. That is not bias. That is the show.

So here is the question that will split the group. Is Patty actually No. 1? Should Rylee outrank Mark? Does Morgan deserve better than last? Drop your full re-ranking in the comments — and defend it like a Schrankel would.
