Tomorrow is Halloween — and for Amy Slaton, it is also an anniversary. One year ago tomorrow, on October 31, 2025, Amy married Brian Lovvorn in a supposedly haunted tavern in Bardstown, Kentucky, in front of family, friends, and a fandom that could not agree on a single thing about it. Twelve months later, the debate has not cooled one bit. Was marrying Brian the best decision Amy ever made — or did she rush into forever with a man she had known for less than two years?

The Halloween Wedding Nobody Saw Coming

Amy and Brian met at a concert in the park in early 2024, according to reports, and got engaged inside the padded room of a haunted house in winter 2024 — after roughly five months of dating. The wedding leaned all the way into the spooky theme: an “old-timey” ceremony at Talbott Tavern, a historic inn said to be haunted, on Halloween night.

One detail had fans talking for weeks. Amy did not pick her sister Tammy as maid of honor, as she had for her first wedding in 2019. The honor went to her friend Ollisha “Lee Lee” Davis. Tammy still attended, dressed in black — but the snub became its own storyline. Amy, for her part, was all in: “My wedding is a dream finally coming true. I’m getting my happily ever after.”

The Case for “Best Decision Ever”

Team Brian starts with the thing Amy herself keeps coming back to: her boys. “Not only did he capture my heart, but he also won over my boys,” Amy said, “and not many men out there will accept a single mom with two energetic boys.” Her sons, Gage and Glenn, whom she shares with ex-husband Michael Halterman, were part of the wedding party — and by May 2026, Brian was right there for the boys’ school milestone, according to reports. On April 30, 2026, Amy marked half a year of marriage on Instagram, calling Brian her “safe place, my biggest supporter, and my best friend” and “the calm in the storm.” In Season 9, while Amy chased her music dream and the Nashville fallout split the family, Brian has been the steady presence in her corner.

The Case for “Too Fast, Too Soon”

The skeptics have a timeline problem. Five months from meeting to engagement. Less than two years from first hello to “I do.” Amy’s own siblings reportedly worried she was rushing — and her first marriage, to Michael Halterman in 2019, ended in divorce in 2023.

Then there is the hardest chapter. In September 2024, Amy and Brian were arrested together after an incident at a Tennessee safari park, where Amy was bitten by a camel — an episode that reportedly involved drug possession and child endangerment charges. Amy later called it a wake-up call, admitting on the show, through tears, how close she came to losing her children: “Those two are the most, they’re the reasons why I’m alive.” For critics, that night is proof the relationship started in chaos. For supporters, it is proof the couple survived their worst moment and came out stronger.

So — Best Decision, or Biggest Rush?

One year on, Season 9 shows neither a fairy tale nor a disaster — a partnership. Amy has spent the season chasing a dream nobody in her family quite believed in, stepping into a recording studio and onto a Nashville stage. Brian has not tried to steal that spotlight. He has simply been there. She once teased that Brian “promised me 55 years; he’ll be 106 when he dies!” One year down. Fifty-four to go, if she gets her way.

Now we want your honest answer. Team “Best Decision Ever” says Brian gave Amy the stable, loving home she spent years searching for — and the boys a stepdad who shows up. Team “Too Soon” says a five-month engagement and a chaotic first year are red flags, not romance. One year ago tomorrow, Amy bet her future on Brian Lovvorn.
