Season 18 of 7 Little Johnstons premieres Tuesday, November 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC, and the countdown has already filled the internet with confident claims that fall apart the second you check them. Before the premiere, here are four myths fans keep repeating — and what is actually true.
Myth 1: Baby Coleman Is Still on the Way

This is the easiest myth to believe, because Season 18 follows Liz Johnston and Brice Bolden through her second pregnancy on screen. In real life, the wait is already over: Liz and Brice, married November 8, 2025, are already parents of two — daughter Leighton, born November 3, 2023, and son Coleman, born September 8, 2026.
That gap is not a mistake. 7 Little Johnstons films behind real life, so the season shows a pregnancy that has already ended in a birth. The on-screen stakes are still real: as a little person, Liz must deliver by C-section under general anesthesia, a fear she voices on camera.
Myth 2: Anna Johnston Is Back for Season 18
Every new season brings the same hopeful rumor, and Season 18 is no exception: maybe this is the year Anna Johnston returns. According to reports, it is not. Anna departed the series after Season 16, did not appear in Season 17, and nothing in the Season 18 trailer suggests a surprise comeback. TLC has announced no return.
She has said she stepped away to protect her mental health. But wishing for a reunion is not the same as reporting one. The confirmed Season 18 core is six Johnstons: Trent and Amber, plus Jonah, Liz, Alex, and Emma. Counting Anna as a seventh cast member is counting someone who, by every available report, is not there.
Myth 3: Emma Johnston Already Has a Boyfriend
Emma Johnston turns 21 this season, and the trailer hands her the line fans are already quoting. Asked if she wants a boyfriend, she answers: yes. She also admits she is still single.

Emma has said publicly that she does not have a boyfriend, and she shut down speculation about a boy in a prom photo, saying he was just a good friend. According to reports, Ashley and Allie may try to play matchmaker for Emma, with fans speculating about a link to Joose, the family’s former exchange guest. Fans speculate about a pairing; TLC has confirmed no couple.
Myth 4: Season 18 Is Only About Liz’s Baby

Liz’s second pregnancy is the emotional spine of the season, but it is not the whole season. Trent Johnston turns 50 and marks it by trying 50 new things at 50, including dude-ranch work and jousting, according to TLC. Amber Johnston faces a quieter chapter, as TLC says she is exploring ways to manage the challenges of perimenopause while juggling everything else.
Then there is the adult kids’ unfinished business: Jonah, still living at home, and girlfriend Ashley, together seven years with no progress toward marriage or moving in together, according to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup; and Alex, who according to reports hopes to get engaged to Allie Smith next year. That is not a single-story season.
So here is the pre-premiere checklist: Coleman is already here, Anna is not back, Emma is single and saying so herself, and the baby is only one thread in a much busier season. Which myth fooled you the most — and which Season 18 storyline deserves the most screen time: Liz’s baby, Trent’s bucket list, or Amber’s new chapter? Pick your side in the comments.
