Team Jessy vs. Team Vittorio: Did Episode 4 Cross the Line — or Just Tell the Truth?

Four episodes into 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 8, Jessy Peralta and Vittorio Palchetti have gone from fresh faces to the season’s loudest argument. The flashpoint is one scene from Episode 4, “Schnapps on the Rocks,” aired October 25: Vittorio humiliating Jessy in front of his friends, according to the episode synopsis.

That one line has split the fandom in two. Was it a public humiliation no partner should ever inflict? Or an awkward clash between two people who want very different lives in Italy? This is not a full-episode recap. It is the argument about that one moment, both sides heard fairly.

The Moment That Split the Room

Here is what is on the record. The official episode description says Vittorio humiliated Jessy in front of his friends. Recaps agree on the shape of the scene: Jessy, the newcomer in Vittorio’s world, is embarrassed before people who already know him.

One recap called Vittorio’s behaviour gaslighting, noting his Italian was close enough to Spanish — a language Jessy speaks — that she could follow more than he seemed to assume. The same recap noted his friends came across as more understanding than he did. No exact quote is claimed here, because sources describe the moment rather than transcribing it. The fight is over what it meant, not what word was said.

The Case for Team Jessy

Team Jessy starts with the sacrifice. Jessy, a 29-year-old from the Bronx with Dominican roots, met Vittorio while he was working in Miami, dated him for a year, then moved across the world to Italy for him — leaving her home city for a man whose family and friends were already doubting her.

That is why the scene stings for her supporters. Being corrected in private is one thing. Being made to feel small before his people, in his country, in a language that is not fully yours, is another. One recapper wrote that Jessy was doing far better in the situation than they themselves would have.

Team Jessy also points to the pattern: a year of dating without, according to reports, taking physical intimacy to the next level, while Vittorio’s family questioned whether the connection was genuine, plus a countryside move that was never the Tuscan dream Jessy pictured. The dinner then looks less like one bad night and more like the night the imbalance showed on camera.

The Case for Team Vittorio

Team Vittorio has a real argument too. Moving abroad is a two-way culture shock. Vittorio is a Florence fashion professional in his own world, with his own friends and humour. His supporters say what looked like humiliation may have been clumsy, direct socialising — teasing that lands badly on camera and worse across a language gap, but never meant to wound.

His defenders also note Jessy is no shrinking violet. She describes herself as loud, Latina, and a Leo, and has said people judged her wrongly from her social media presence. If she can give as good as she gets, they argue, one tense dinner makes neither a victim nor a villain.

Then there is the next-episode preview. According to preview notes recapped after Episode 4, Vittorio is shown saying Jessy has turned into a monster, then crying. Team Vittorio reads that as a man cracking under pressure. Team Jessy reads it as proof he will blame her for his own behaviour.

The Trust Question Hanging Over Both

No honest version of this argument can skip trust. Before Episode 4, Starcasm reported Vittorio’s Tuscan apartment was an Airbnb rental, part of the Casa Barthel estate near Florence. Vittorio answered in an Instagram Reel, saying people could call him many things but never a liar, and explaining his father bought the land in Impruneta in the 1980s and that he was born there.

Starcasm’s update adds the wrinkle: Vittorio admitted his father gave the property to a management company, so the rental claim was not fully debunked. Neither version is proven fact here. But it colours Episode 4: doubters hear humiliation at dinner, believers hear a bad night.

So, Which Side Are You On?

Our verdict will annoy both teams: the scene was unfair to Jessy, and survivable for the couple. A partner should never make you feel small before his friends, especially when you gave up your home city to be there. Yet one dinner alone does not prove a relationship is doomed.

Episode 5, airing Sunday, November 1, will show which reading was right. If Vittorio owns the moment and apologises without blaming Jessy, Team Vittorio gains ground. If he doubles down, Team Jessy wins outright. Until then, be honest about why you picked your side — and drop your verdict below: Team Jessy or Team Vittorio?
