Ask any OutDaughtered fan to name the funniest Busby quint, and the answer comes back before you finish the question: Olivia. Ask the same fans who starts the most trouble in the Busby house, and — awkwardly — you get the same name. Olivia Marie Busby, now 11, has spent a decade being both the laugh of the family and its chief mischief-maker, and the fandom has never quite decided which one she really is.

TLC itself gave her both labels. Her official network bio calls her “the goofball who will keep you laughing” — and in the same breath notes that she likes to start trouble. Her mother Danielle has called her “a hundred percent the entertainer, comedian in the house.” So which is it: the class clown, or the troublemaker in a clown costume? The evidence for both is strong.

The Goofball Title She Earned

Olivia did not inherit the funny title — she performed for it. When Danielle sat each quint down to answer 13 questions for the family blog, It’s a Buzz World, Olivia’s answers made her mother laugh out loud. Her advice to the world, in her own words: “be funny like me.” Danielle wrote that Olivia “never stops making others laugh.”

The show gave fans the proof. In a Season 3 promo, the cameras caught all five quints painting together — and Olivia stole the scene by showing off her blue-painted mouth, tongue and all, giggling at her own masterpiece.

The Trouble Side Nobody Can Deny

But every Busby fan knows the other half of the story. Olivia has what MEAWW describes as a mischievous side, enjoying “trolling” her sisters. Danielle has been blunt about it on the family blog: Olivia “definitely goes to war the most with Riley,” and the two bicker the most “only because they are both so strong-willed.” Adam added his own verdict on camera: “Those two have always bickered more than anyone else.”

Olivia’s edge is not just sibling squabbling, either. Danielle wrote that Olivia “will stand up for any of her sisters” — and “will be the first to ‘throw a punch.’” The same engine drives both reputations: Olivia wants the room’s attention, and she knows exactly how to get it.

The Twin Effect: Ava Brings Out a Different Olivia

There is one person who changes the equation entirely: her identical twin, Ava. Born first and second on April 8, 2015, the twins have been inseparable since the NICU.

That bond is why Adam and Danielle made a deliberate choice before pre-K: split the twins into different classes, so Olivia could grow more independent instead of leaning on her identical twin. And it is why fans see a softer Olivia next to Ava. Ava is the sweet, more serious twin; Olivia, according to TLC, is the one who brings out Ava’s silly side. Put them together and Olivia is not the troublemaker — she is the spark that gets her quieter twin laughing.

At 11, Does the Class Clown Stay the Class Clown?

Now the quints are 11 and in sixth grade — in a homeschool co-op, as reported by TVShowsAce. The question fans are asking is whether Olivia’s act survives growing up. Danielle’s own read, from the girls’ fifth birthday, still fits: Olivia is “the ‘adapter’” who “just goes with the flow” — but, her mom added, “she is super opinionated.”

That combination is exactly why the debate never ends. They are one girl who learned, before she could even walk, that making the room laugh is the fastest way to run it. So tell us where you stand: Team Funniest Quint, or Team Biggest Troublemaker? Or is Olivia Busby proof that the funniest quint and the most trouble always come in the same package?
