Nigel Isn’t a Brisbane Local After All — Fans Say His Real Home Is in Ipswich

“I work in Ipswich so I recognise all of the places in the show.” One sentence on r/90DayFiance, posted November 5, did what weeks of clips could not: it moved Nigel’s front door. Not to another suburb — to another city. Ipswich, 40 kilometres west of the Brisbane life Nigel has been selling all season on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.

They work in Ipswich and kept recognising the streets, shops and scenery in Nigel’s scenes. Another fan had already visited a shop featured on the show on October 25 and reported back that Nigel “actually lives around Ipswich.” Two locals, two weeks apart, one city.

The Bio Still Says Brisbane

Nigel’s Instagram bio calls him a “First Nations DJ/Drummer based in Meanjin/Brisbane,” a line that resurfaced on October 12. Brisbane works as a regional label — but locals keep placing his front door somewhere else, and that gap is now the argument.

The show has not helped his case. In Episode 3, Nigel took his shoes off in a supermarket and told Andi barefoot shopping was legal. Brisbane viewers pushed back — one wrote, “we Brisbane ppl do infact wear shoes to the shops.” One fan theory puts him “around Ipswich,” its author noting no barefoot shoppers at the featured store.

The Money Theory: $600 a Week and a Base Job

Once the address was in doubt, the money followed. According to reports, the November 5 poster claimed Nigel owns an Ipswich investment property, estimating $600 to $700 a week in rent. The same poster alleged Nigel worked at RAAF Base Amberley in Ipswich. None of it is confirmed — a fan theory built on recognising shopfronts, not documents — but it reframes the “permanent vacation” Nigel likes to claim. A landlord with a base job and rental income is a very different story from a carefree DJ.

Why a Postcode Became a Trust Question

The address debate did not arrive on its own. Before Andi landed, Nigel had talked her into putting a $10,000 Mexico timeshare on her credit card — then left her holding the debt. He had been living with another woman until two days before Andi arrived. In Episode 4, he walked into a party with Azrael and called her his “part-time lover.” In Episode 5, he took Andi to cockroach races at a local pub as she called his connections “mini relationships.”

Then came the off-screen pile-on. On November 3, Nigel posted Instagram Stories from Queensland’s Earth Frequency Festival, dancing face-to-face with Azrael while Andi appeared nowhere. On November 4, Entertainment Tonight released a clip in which Andi admits she texted two men and slept with one while living with Nigel. He called it “crossing a line.” The postcode is the smallest item on that list — and the easiest to check.

Sunday Brings the Face-to-Face Fans Want

Sunday won’t settle the address, but it will answer another question. The Other Way returns November 8 with “Liar, Liar, Relationship on Fire,” and Andi comes face to face with Nigel’s lover, according to TLC’s synopsis. Also that night: Jessy and Vittorio, Michelle spying on Felix, Jon and Ally debating a breakup.

Nigel’s bio says Brisbane. Two locals say Ipswich. And Andi — $10,000 in debt on a timeshare — is about to sit across from the woman Nigel calls his “part-time lover.” If you were Andi, would the postcode be the last straw — or just more proof his “permanent vacation” was never the full story? Team Brisbane or Team Ipswich — which one would you trust?
