Forget who is still together. On I Love a Mama’s Boy, staying together is not the same as being healthy. Some couples survived by building a wall between their marriage and mom. Others are still technically together — and still miserable.
We scored every major couple on boundaries, communication, independence, and whether the son can say no. Season 5 is still unconfirmed, according to reports.
#1 Roberto and Kristy: The Healthiest Couple on the Show
Roberto and Kristy win because they chose each other in public, at the worst possible moment. When Nancy convinced Roberto to demand a paternity test on their own daughter Kimi, Kristy did not beg or bargain. She walked out and asked, “Who is she that I have to prove to her?” Roberto followed his wife out the door.
The test came back 99.99 percent his, and according to reports, the couple then distanced themselves from Nancy and stayed together. That distance is the whole score.
#2 Matt and Devon: Healthy Now, But Only Because Matt Finally Grew Up

Matt and Devon rank second, with a giant asterisk. Matt’s past is a health warning by itself: four years with Kim inside Kelly’s house, a broken engagement, and his own admission that he took “a coward’s way out” of the Brittany breakup.
What changed is recent and visible. Matt sat down on The Sarah Fraser Show podcast alongside both Kelly and Devon, then posted a photo of the trio writing that “mom’s ready for the ride.” High and rising — but still on probation.
YOU MAY LIKEThe Women Who Walked Away: 4 Exes Who Escaped I Love a Mama’s Boy#3 Josh and Janelle: A Strong Marriage Trapped in Someone Else’s House

Josh and Janelle have the longest marriage here — 12 years — and that should count for a lot. It does, until you remember the catch: Josh had never lived apart from his mother Tina, even after all those years married. Janelle spent over a decade sharing her husband, house, holidays, and decisions with Tina.
The Florida house was Janelle’s healthiest move: she bought it anyway, with notably no room for Tina. But the suite fight that followed showed the marriage still has no settled boundary.
#4 Shekeb and Emily: Passion Without a Single Working Boundary
Shekeb and Emily had chemistry and four years of history — and not one working boundary between them and Laila. Laila called Emily a “pig,” timed her fainting spells with “Momma gonna die,” and once brought Yussra, the woman she wanted Shekeb to marry, to dinner as a live sabotage attempt. Emily fought back every time, but fighting back is not fixing the problem.
The breaking point said everything: Shekeb pitched Emily moving into Laila’s house with him. The couple ended the season apart.
#5 Tre and Abbey: The Warning Label for Every Couple Below Them
Tre and Abbey sit last because every health score hit zero at once. Tre’s attention stayed fixed on his mother Lorenda, who lived directly behind the couple and walked into their home as if it were still hers. Abbey kept fighting for Tre’s attention — and kept losing.
Communication collapsed, boundaries never existed, and when the breakup came, Lorenda reportedly celebrated it on camera. The healthiest thing this couple ever did was stop pretending the triangle worked.
Now your turn, no fence-sitting: do you agree Roberto and Kristy are the healthiest couple this show has ever had, or does Matt and Devon deserve the top spot? And which couple did we rank too high? Pick a side in the comments.
