“It breaks my heart that she’s gone across the world for this guy, and he’s done nothing for her.” That is Shelly, dropping Michelle off at the airport in the Episode 6 preview of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. The 40-year-old single mom from Dallas is moving to Ghana for her boyfriend Felix — and her mother and daughter are getting on planes of their own.
Viewers met Michelle in Episode 4, and her debut episode split the fandom: “Michelle pushes Felix to put her before his family.” But this split is not between strangers online. It is inside her own house.
The Apartment Robbery Nobody in the Family Can Forgive
The last time Michelle was in Ghana, Felix and his father cleaned out her apartment — then treated it like a joke. That is why Shelly and Kiera do not trust Felix, and why they do not want Michelle boarding another plane to Ghana. Michelle still calls him the love of her life; her family sees a man who robbed her once.
Kiera Tried to Like Him — She Really Did
Nobody can accuse Kiera of not trying. “I’ve tried so many times to like him, and you can do better,” she tells her mother. Michelle had Kiera at 20 and raised her alone, determined to give her everything she never had: “So she played the violin, she did cheer, she did gymnastics.”

Kiera is pregnant now, living with her Navy husband in California; she graduated from esthetician school and runs GlamByKiki in Lemoore, according to her social media. “I really don’t want you to go to no Ghana,” she says — a grown daughter who tried to like him and ran out of reasons to.

Shelly has said less, but it cuts deeper. “We want to support you, but we just wanna tell you our opinion because we don’t want you to make a mistake.”

But that goodbye is not the end. Kiera and Shelly will be heading to Ghana later in the season, according to TV Insider — coming to see Felix for themselves.
The Preacher Pulling the Strings
Between Michelle and the family she wants stands Felix’s father — a preacher Michelle says pushes his son to do bad things. “The dad has been the one brainwashing him, putting him up to everything. He made him rob the house. He told Felix I’m not allowed to have friends. His dad asked about me and Felix’s sex life. His dad is like his bodyguard.”
That is the fault line everything we know so far about Michelle and Felix keeps coming back to. Michelle paid off a mobile home at 17 on Denny’s wages. She met Felix a year and a half ago during a layover in Ghana, where he was bartending — and two weeks of vacation turned into nine months.
