Should Anna Johnston Ever Come Back to 7 Little Johnstons? The Fandom Is Split in Two

Anna Johnston — the question splitting the fandom: should she ever come back?

“Let me know when you are walking a straight path, so I can hear your judgement.” That is what Anna Johnston typed back at a stranger in October — and it split the 7 Little Johnstons fandom clean in two. Not because of the arrest, but because of three words in the middle: “including my parents” — the parents Anna has not spoken to in years. So here is the question that sentence dragged back into the open, eleven days before Season 18 premieres: should Anna Johnston ever come back?

Team Bring Her Back: The Show Is Six People Pretending to Be Seven

The math is the argument. The show is called 7 Little Johnstons. Season 18 has six: Trent, Amber, Jonah, Liz, Alex and Emma. Every group shot has one empty space in it. A reconciliation would be the biggest storyline TLC has had in years. Anna has left the door open a crack: she hopes the family can reconcile one day, according to TV Season & Spoilers. And the rift began, according to reports, over a graduation gown dispute. If a cap and gown started it, this camp asks, why couldn’t a conversation end it?

Team Let Her Go: Anna Already Said She Was Ready to Move On

Trent and Amber Johnston — the parents Anna defended in the same breath as her clapback.

The other side has a simpler case: listen to Anna herself. In a December 2025 episode, she said it plainly: “There’s nothing else to work out. I’m definitely ready just to move on.” She stepped away to protect her mental health, skipped Season 17, and will not appear in Season 18. TLC has announced no return. Off camera she runs her accessories business, Fizz4Passion. And the show has moved on without her: Liz and Brice are now parents of two, Trent turns 50, and Emma turns 21 and admits in the trailer that she wants a boyfriend. Dragging her back, this camp says, would reopen wounds she chose to close.

The Line That Complicates Both Sides: “Including My Parents”

Both sides quote the same woman. On October 10, 2026, Anna was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Georgia, according to reports from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, which broke the story. A breath test allegedly showed 0.139, nearly double Georgia’s 0.08 limit, and she was released the next day on a $1,563 bond. When a critic wrote that Trent and Amber may have been right, Anna answered: “You’re right not good. Make sure you are walking a straight path before you judge anyone, including my parents or anyone.” She added, “No one said I am not taking accountability.” One camp reads the smiling mugshot as a woman who will not own it. The other reads a woman who admitted it was “not good,” then refused lectures from strangers while defending her estranged parents. Even Amber weighed in: “Nobody, and I mean nobody deserves threats, hate, or shame.”

The Ashley Question: Is the Seventh Seat Already Taken?

If Anna never comes back, someone has to fill the space. A fan theory reported by TV Season & Spoilers on October 26 says Ashley, Jonah’s girlfriend of seven years, could step into a bigger role. The Season 18 teaser puts the couple front and center, with Trent and Amber worrying that seven years has brought no progress toward marriage. Some viewers think a wedding could bring Ashley in full time — but TLC has confirmed nothing, and a girlfriend is not a daughter. The partners already carry their own storylines: Ashley and Allie are teaming up to play matchmaker for Emma. The seventh seat may stay empty because nobody can sit in it.

So here is the vote. If TLC offered Anna a camera crew and a clean slate for Season 19, should she take it — or has the door closed for good? Team Bring Her Back or Team Let Her Go — and tell us which moment made up your mind: the “straight path” clapback, or the day Anna said she was ready to move on?
