When 7 Little Johnstons premiered, all five Johnston kids lived under one roof in Forsyth, Georgia. Eleven years later, that roof covers a very different household. Some kids have bought homes and started families. Others are still in their childhood bedrooms, and Season 18 is about to make that impossible to ignore. Ahead of the premiere on Tuesday, November 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC, here is the honest scorecard: who moved out, who stayed, and who is still deciding.
Liz and Brice: The Ones Who Actually Moved Out
Liz Johnston was the first sibling to truly leave the nest, and she did it in stages. She and Brice Bolden moved into Trent and Amber’s house during her first pregnancy, then spent years working toward a place of their own. After a gifted plot of land did not work out, the couple closed on their own home on Season 16. According to reports, they bought a three-bedroom home in Georgia, where they now live with daughter Leighton, born November 3, 2023, and son Coleman, born September 8, 2026. Married on November 8, 2025, Liz and Brice are the only Johnston kids running a full household of their own.
Anna: Out Years Ago, and Not Coming Back to the Show

Anna Johnston’s move is the oldest in the family, and also the most final. She bought her first home in February 2023 at age 22, a milestone Amber celebrated online with the hashtag #annagotacrib, and TLC filmed her move during Season 13. But a house is only half of Anna’s story. She left the show after Season 16, did not appear in Season 17, and will not appear in Season 18, according to reports, after a public estrangement from her parents. Anna is, by any practical measure, the most independent Johnston kid — homeowner, business owner, living entirely outside the show.
Jonah: Still at Home, and Season 18 Is Not Letting It Go
Then there is Jonah, the eldest, and the storyline Season 18 puts front and center. According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup’s October 31 report on the new trailer, tensions are rising between Trent and Jonah, who is still living at home. Trent and Amber have openly expressed concern that Jonah and girlfriend Ashley have been together for seven years with no progress toward marriage or moving in together. Jonah has rebuilt his adult life in real ways but the address has not changed, and neither has the relationship status.
Alex and Emma: The Two Still Under Trent and Amber’s Roof

That leaves the youngest two, Alex and Emma, both 21 and both still living at home as far as anything confirmed goes. Alex’s future move is tied to a plan, not a place: according to reports, he hopes to get engaged to girlfriend Allie Smith next year and eventually work on her family’s farm, but Allie’s parents have reportedly set boundaries around moving in together before marriage, so no move is on the table yet. Emma’s independence has come in smaller steps fans keep mistaking for a move-out. She took her first solo flight to volunteer at camp, but as TV Season & Spoilers noted in October, she has not officially moved out of her parents’ home. So here is the question dividing the fandom: which adult kid should move out next — Jonah, after seven years with Ashley, or one of the younger two striking out first — and which one is actually right to stay home a little longer? Pick a side, and defend it.
