The Doubling Down With the Derricos family is facing a tough chapter — and fans are divided over how they’re handling it.
On June 2, Karen Derrico took to Instagram to launch a GoFundMe campaign to support her ex-husband Deon’s mother, Marian “GG” Derrico, who’s currently battling lung cancer and has stopped chemotherapy.
🙏 The fundraiser asks for help covering GG’s care, and while some fans rushed in with love and donations, others were… not so supportive.
💬 One fan gushed:
“Oh GG, please get well soon. You’re our internet Grammy! 🙌🙌🙌”
Another said:

But not everyone was feeling generous.
👀 Critics flooded the comments with tough questions:
“Not trying to be rude, but your family’s reportedly worth $6 million… shouldn’t y’all have insurance?”
“Take care of your mom yourself — leave the fundraising for people who really can’t afford treatment.”
“Will we see receipts for medical bills or travel expenses?”
“Is this a scam?”
💰 As of now, the campaign has raised just over $5,000 of its $140,000 goal — and the debate shows no signs of slowing down.
🗣 What do YOU think?
Is this just a family trying to help a loved one, or should reality TV stars be footing the bill themselves?
