Who Actually Won the Sister Wives Divorce? Christine, Janelle or Meri — Fans Can’t Agree

Janelle Brown was sitting in a rocking chair on her North Carolina porch, next to a man she had met on a blind date, when Pete looked at the camera and made a five-year plan. “This is forever,” he said. “Okay, we’re predicting this is us in five years.” Janelle didn’t even blink. “Oh no. Let’s say 30.” That number is why the fandom is suddenly arguing: now that all three ex-wives have moved on, who actually won the divorce?

Team Christine: Married First — But at What Price?

Christine left Kody in November 2021 after 25 years and married David Woolley in October 2023 — the first, and so far only, ex-wife to remarry. On paper, that is the win. But Season 21 keeps showing the price. In couples therapy, David told her she becomes “Christine Brown” around people from her past and “Christine Woolley” with him — then delivered the line that split the fandom in two: “I’m coming to the point where it’s either me or them.” Fans split down the middle: therapy makes a marriage stronger, or proof she rushed to the altar. The question stands: did Christine win the race, or just start a new one?

Team Janelle: The Slowest Start, the Calmest Finish?

Janelle split from Kody in December 2022 after nearly 30 years, then spent almost four years not dating publicly. She built a house on 156 acres in North Carolina, started Taeda Farms, and was completely happy — until a friend’s dinner invitation turned out to be a blind date with a man she had never spoken to and whose face she had never seen. Pete, she says, is nothing like Kody: “He doesn’t have a huge ego. He’s not high maintenance. He loves me so much, and I feel cherished as well as loved.” Her nervous system, she says, “just chills” around him. The catch is distance: North Carolina versus Las Vegas. Her fans call that the real win: not a ring, but a man who opens doors and a life she built herself first.

Team Meri: Winning by Refusing to Play?

Then there is Meri, who ended her marriage in January 2023 after more than 30 years and has refused every timeline since. After a brief fling with Amos Andrews, she met Ron at a speed-dating event — and a year later, they are still, deliberately, in the friend zone. “I jumped into my relationship with Kody really fast,” she said. “I just think that moving slow can be wise.” This Sunday’s episode, “Therapy By Fire,” sends her to San Francisco for a tantra yoga speed-dating event. She also told Us Weekly she gets proposed to “on a weekly basis” in her DMs. Her fans say she is playing the long game: an 1870 house in Parowan becoming an event venue, travel on her own schedule, no man setting the pace. Her critics ask: is patience a strategy, or is she the only one of the three still waiting?

The Scoreboard Nobody Agrees On

Score it by the wedding ring and Christine wins in a walk. Score it by peace and Janelle wins — the woman who wasn’t even looking is the one planning 30 years in a rocking chair. Score it by freedom and Meri wins, because nobody tells her when to move anymore. That is why the fandom can’t settle it: the three women didn’t just leave the same man, they left for three different versions of happiness.

Janelle is planning decades with Pete, Christine is fighting in therapy to keep her marriage, and Meri is speed-dating strangers in San Francisco on her own clock. So tell us straight: Team Christine, Team Janelle, or Team Meri — which ex-wife actually won the divorce?
