After moving to Montana in January 2025, a drive of about 40 hours across 11 states from Georgia, Moriah opened up on camera about how losing her hair changed her perspective and forced her to start over from the inside out. In one scene at a wig store, she took off her wig in public for the first time. She talked about vitamins, food and self-care, and admitted she is still looking for answers about what causes the condition.
None of that was easy television. It was raw, unglamorous and brave, and it is why so many fans who once rolled their eyes at Moriah now defend her fiercely.
The Journey She Has Not Explained
And then, just as fans settled into that story, Moriah changed it without explanation. Recently, she quit the restaurant job she had held for about a year, posting a collage of her time there and writing a bittersweet goodbye to co-workers who had become like family. “Lord only knows what lies ahead,” she wrote, “but I’ll always consider this place home.”

She did not say where she was headed. She did not say what the journey is. Day one of what, exactly? That is the story she has not told yet, and it is the one fans cannot stop asking about.
Is it a move? A music comeback? Moriah is, after all, a singer-songwriter who has released several pop singles, including her latest, “Proud of You,” and whose music career has driven some of the show’s biggest family fights. Is the new journey about the music, or about leaving all of that behind?
What Fans Still Want to Know
Meanwhile, the group has its own sideshow: a first-word thread about her mother, Kim Plath, where fans try to sum up the Plath matriarch in a single word. The contrast is the whole point. Kim gets summed up in a word; Moriah refuses to be summed up at all.
