The Derrico custody war has taken its darkest turn yet — and this time, it arrived in a court filing. According to a new TMZ report published October 28, 2026, Deon Derrico has gone back to court with a claim that has left the entire Doubling Down With the Derricos fandom stunned and asking: how did this family get here?

One thing matters more than the headlines: everything below is an allegation in a court filing, reported by TMZ. No court has ruled on it, and Karen has not yet responded in court. The daughter at the center is a minor, and we are not identifying her or repeating details beyond what TMZ reported.

What Deon Filed — and What TMZ Reported

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Deon told the court he has “significant concern regarding the safety and welfare” of his minor children. His claim, as TMZ reports it: Karen is spending time with a man Deon does not want around the kids — a man who, Deon says, allegedly touched one of their daughters inappropriately when she was younger.

Deon says he raised the issue with Karen directly, and that she brushed him off. He does not say whether the man is a romantic partner of Karen’s, according to TMZ.

The Journal Entry at the Center of It

The detail fans are talking about most is where Deon says he learned about it: his daughter’s journal. According to TMZ, Deon claims he found entries in which she wrote that the man had touched her when she was younger. That is all that has been publicly reported — no further detail, and none should be invented.

Karen’s Side: The Counter-Claim Fans Keep Quoting

Karen has yet to respond to this claim in court, according to TMZ. But her side of the wider fight is already on the record. In her own filing, Karen claimed Deon withheld the children from her for a significant period — no in-person contact from April, then no video contact from August.

That is the shape of this war in 2026: two parents, two different stories, one court in the middle — and a fandom in between saying the same thing: the children should not be the battlefield.

How We Got Here: Divorce, Arrest, and 12 Kids Under One Roof

Deon and Karen divorced in June 2024 after 19 years, sharing joint custody of their 13 minor children; according to reports, 12 of the 14 now live with Deon. Then came June 2026: Karen was arrested in Las Vegas on charges including harassment, aggravated stalking, and violating a restraining order, after Deon accused her of sending threatening emails. She pleaded not guilty, was released on $2,000 bail with an ankle monitor, and her attorney claims Deon forged the emails — a claim Deon denies. The case remains open, and Karen is presumed innocent.

Through all of it, one fact has stayed constant: the Derricos are still filming. Deon recently confirmed the family is shooting a new season targeted for 2027, with no network, title, or date announced yet.

What This Means for the New Season — and the Kids

Here is the question hanging over everything: can a feel-good family comeback survive a custody war this dark? The new season was supposed to be the redemption story — the solo dad of 12, the kids learning their way around the kitchen. Now every future episode will be watched through the lens of this filing.

And that brings us back to the only people who never asked for any of this: the 14 kids. They did not choose the divorce, the court dates, or the headlines. Whatever side you are on, that part is not up for debate.

So tell us honestly in the comments: should the courts step in fast and hard here, or should this stay a private family matter until a judge rules? And the question splitting every Derrico group tonight — are you still Team Deon, Team Karen, or done picking sides and just Team “protect the kids”?
