Kara Bass walked into 90 Day: Hunt for Love with a past no new date can ignore — and that is exactly the point. The Season 9 star, whose marriage to Guillermo Rojer collapsed on 90 Day: The Last Resort, is now looking for a partner who accepts her whole life: realtor, bachata singer, mom, and adult content creator. But as TV Insider’s new explainer lays out, the same question that ended her marriage is already following her into Season 2.

How Kara Bass and Guillermo Rojer began

Kara met Venezuelan-born Guillermo Rojer in the Dominican Republic in 2020. They got engaged within months and married on July 23, 2021, in Albemarle County, Virginia. Their son was born on December 3, 2022.

What does Kara Bass do for a living?

Outside reality TV, Kara juggles several jobs. She is a realtor with Keller Williams Alliance in Charlottesville, Virginia, and she makes bachata music under the name Kara Leona — her most recent song, “Nobody,” debuted on July 9.

As she explained on The Last Resort, neither profession was paying enough while raising her son, so she also started selling adult content online. She put it plainly: raising her son was very expensive, and the content work was how she kept the family afloat.

Why Kara and Guillermo’s marriage ended

The breaking point came down to that career. Guillermo told cameras he did not want his wife selling that kind of content online, and worried about how their son would feel about it in the future. After couples therapy, he still took issue with her work — and then ghosted her at the recommitment ceremony, ending the relationship for good.

Whether the divorce is officially finalized remains murky. TV Insider notes that multiple 90 Day blogs reported Kara shared confirmation on Instagram that the divorce was finalized, but she appears to have since deleted the post — so fans should treat the “officially over” label with care until a court record or a direct statement settles it.

What is happening with Kara on Hunt for Love?

Season 2 drops Kara into a Puerto Rico singles retreat, and the early episodes show her wasting no time. At the premiere’s singles night, she sparked an immediate connection with newcomer JT — even handing him her necklace as a sign of interest — before sitting down with him to lay her career out in the open.

That honesty is the whole gamble of her season. Kara has said she wants a partner who will not dim her light, and Hunt for Love is her test of whether that person exists in the franchise world. If a new connection can handle the full truth on day one, it might last. If not, viewers will watch the same fault line crack open again — this time with someone new.

The question fans are actually debating

Strip away the villa drama and the debate is simple: is a partner allowed to set a boundary about adult content work, or is asking Kara to quit asking her to give up her independence? Guillermo’s camp says boundaries in a marriage are fair, especially with a child involved. Kara’s camp says she was transparent, she was providing, and the person who should have adapted was the one who stopped showing up.

So, Hunt for Love fans: can Kara’s fresh start work if her new match knows everything from the start? Or is her career always going to be the dealbreaker? Tell us which side you are on — and who you think is actually right for her this season.
